URL Rewrite not working in wordpress plugin

I am writing a custom URL protection plugin in wordpress and facing a major problem. So I need your guidance at this.

After protecting the original link the users get a link which is like
http://localhost/imustech/test_wp/link/p3/286ce90106c8c4e7e04bf40c1abf5b2f412d892a

Now I want wordpress to understand this as
http://localhost/imustech/test_wp/link?q=p3/286ce90106c8c4e7e04bf40c1abf5b2f412d892a
so that I can get the last hash code as a query string variable.

For your reference I have a page called "link" and I will post my short code there to get the details of the original URL(may be www.google.com or anything else).

Please help me to overcome this problem.
