taxonomy_exists always return false even the taxonomie exist

the wodpress function taxonomy_exists that verify the existence of taxonomy always return false.

 $tax = taxonomy_exists('categorie-video');
 error_log('verify the existence of taxonomy = ' . json_encode($tax));

I used simple taxonomie plugin to create the taxonomie any idea, any help, thanks in advanse
