Any free APIs for MLS listings or a free way to embed MLS search on website?

I'm trying to figure out a way to embed MLS search on my website (not wordpress). What I've found so far are a few services that charge $40+ monthly (such as iHomeFinder) but I don't have that kind of budget. Are there any free APIs or low cost services that provide an MLS search? Or are there any good free wordpress plugins that do the same thing?
