Feed WordPress to import JSON data feed from a REST API Feed URL

I have a JSON data feed from an external website, I would like to know whether I can use Feed WordPress to import JSON feed to WordPress as posts. Is there any way to extend (adding a addon) the feedwordpress plugin to have JSON import option.
